Back for a fourth season at KNSI with your weekly amateur baseball (Town Team) baseball reports. Including not only game summaries, but upcoming schedules, league standings. Tournament summaries and an occasional special interest feature. The plan is to continue to include: Lakewood League, Central Valley League, Sauk Valley League, Victory League South and Stearns County teams throughout their league playoffs, regional and state tourney games. CENTRAL VALLEY LEAGUE
 
KIMBALL EXPRESS 5, LUXEMBURG BREWERS 3 (Kimball 4/23)
 
The Express held off the Brewers for a big Central Valley League win 5-3. The Brewers left 19 runners stranded on the bases and they collected 10 hits. The Dingmans battled the Brewers, with Zach Dingman starting for the Express, he threw 4 innings, he gave up 4 hits, walked 5 and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Matt Dingmann threw 3 innings of relief, he walked 4 and he recorded 4 strikeouts to earn the win. Andy Dingmann earned the save with 2 innings of relief, he gave up 6 hits, 3 runs and he walked one. They scored all of their runs in the third inning. The Express collected just 5 hits, with Brooks Marquardt going 1-2 with 2 big RBI's. Austin Ruehle went 2-5 and he scored a run. Troy Filzen went 1-4 and Matt Dingmann went 1-1 and Brian Marquardt walked, scored a run and he had an RBI. Ben Johnson and Adam Beyer both walked and scored a run. Kyle Winter and Ben Theisen both earned walks.
 
The Brewers had three players with multi hit games; Colton Fruth went 2-6 with a double, 3 stolen bases and he scored a run. Nick Baker went 2-5 with a RBI and walked and Casey Underwood went 2-5 and he scored a run. Derrick Orth went 1-5 with a double and he earned a walk and Luke Harren went 1-4 and he earned 2 walks. Player-manager Cory Wenz went 1-4 and Ethyn Fruth went 1-3 with 2 walks and he scored a run. Austin Klaverkamp earned a pair of walks and Rhett Fruth earned a walk. Austin Klaverkamp started on the mound for the Brewers, he threw 2 2/3 innings. He gave up 3 hits, 4 walks, 5 runs and he recorded 2 strikeouts, Austin was the pitcher of record. Nick Baker threw 4 1/3 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits, 2 walks and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Casey Underwood threw the final inning, he retired the 3 batters he faced.
 
ST. NICHOLAS 3 EDEN VALLEY HAWKS 1 (St. Nicholas 4/23)
 
The Nicks did collect 9 hits and they got a very good pitching performances by Travis Hanson, Cory Grafft and Kevin Drontle. Travis started on the mound for the Nicks, he threw 6 innings to earn the win. He gave up 6 hits, 1 run, no walks and he recorded 7 strikeouts. Cory threw 1 inning of relief, he walked one and he recorded 2 strikeouts. The veteran Kevin Drontle closed the door, with 2 innings of relief, to earn the save. He gave up 2 hits, 1 walk and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Robert Lutgen had a big game for the Nicks, he went 3-4 with a double, he scored 2 runs and he had a stolen base. Tanner Anderson went 2-4 and he scored a run and Grant Marzek went 1-3 with a RBI and he earned a walk. Derek Kueckle went 1-3 with a RBI and he walked, Matt Schindler went 1-4 and Hunter Ahrens went 1-3
 
The Hawks collected eight hits; led by Austin Schlangen, he went 3-4 with a double and Tanner Olean went 2-4 and he earned a walk. Jeff Haag went 1-4 with a RBI and Cain Renner went 1-5. Zach Schlangen went 1-4 and he scored a run and Matt Lies earned a walk and he was hit by a pitch. Tanner Olean started on mound for the Hawks, he threw 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, 2 runs. Austin Schlangen threw 1 inning of relief; he gave up 3 hits, 1 run and he recorded 2 strikeouts.
 
STEARNS COUNTY LEAGUE
 
NEW MUNICH SILVERSTREAKS 6 ELROSA SAINTS 3 (New Munich 4/23)
 
The Silverstreaks had a big win over their rivals the Saints, they collected 9 hits and a good pitching performance from lefty Ty Reller and veteran Jim Thul. Ty started on the mound, he threw 4 innings, gave up 4 hits, 2 runs, 3 walks and he recorded 6 strikeouts to earn the win. Jim Thul threw 5 innings of relief, he gave up 4 hits, 1 run, 1 walk and he recorded 4 strikeouts, to earn the save. Ty Reller had a good game at the plate too, he went 2-2 with a double for 2 big RBI's and he earned a pair of walks. Will Funk went 3-4 with a double and Nick Stangler went 1-1 with a double for a RBI, he scored a run and he had a sacrifice bunt. Grant Johnson went 1-4 with a RBI and Hunter Rademacher went 1-3 with a walk and he scored a run. Joe Stanlger went 1-3 with a sacrifice bunt and he scored a run and Brennen Hoppe drove in a run. Jacob Hinnenkamp scored a run and Jon Goebel had a sacrifice fly.
 
The Saints were led by Cody Eichens, he went 3-4, scored a run and he earned a walk. Matt Schmitz went 1-5 with a double and he scored a run and A. J. Hadley went 1-4 with a double. Kevin Kuefler went 1-5, Austen Hadley went 1-5 and he scored a run and James Kuefler went 1-3 and he earned a walk. Brandon Roelke and Derek Wiener both earned walks. Aaron Vogt started on the mound for the Saints, he threw 5 innings, he gave up 8 hits, 6 runs, 2 walks and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Aaron was the pitcher of record and his brother Ethan Vogt threw 3 innings of relief, he gave up 1 hit, 1 walk and he recorded 4 strikeouts.
 
LAKE HENRY LAKERS 11 RICHMOND ROYALS 4 (Richmond 4/23)
 
The Lakers collected 11 hits, including 5 extra base hits to help lead the Lakers over South division rivals the Royals. The starting pitcher for the Lakers, Weston Brinkman, threw 4 2/3 innings. He scattered 6 hits, surrendered 3 runs, walked 4 and he recorded 2 strikeouts to earn the win. Aaron Savelkoul threw 4 2/3 innings in relief, he gave up 1 hit, 1 run, 4 walks and he recorded 5 strikeouts. The Kampsens were swinging hot bats, with Josh leading the way, he went 2-4 with 2 home runs for 4 big RBI's and he walked. Jason went 1-4 with a big 2 run home run and a sacrifice fly for 3 big RBI's. Shane went 2-3, he earned 2 walks and he scored 3 runs. Aaron Savelkoul not only did a good job on the mound he had a good game at the plate. He went 2-5 with a home run and a double for 3 RBI's. Adam Miller went 1-5 with a RBI and he scored a run and Grant Ludwig went 1-4. Ryan Wuertz went 1-3, Sam Hopfer went 1-3 with a sacrifice bunt and he scored a run and Colin Riley earned a walk and he scored a run.
 
The Royals collected 7 hits, but just one extra base hit wasn't enough as they dropped their first divisional game. D. J. Schleicher started on the mound for the Royals, he threw 4 1/3 innings. He gave up 8 hits, 6 runs, and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Andy Bauer threw 4 2/3 innings, he gave up 3 hits, 5 runs, 4 walks and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Brent Ruegemer led the Royals offense, he went 3-4 with a 2 run home run and Alex Budde 2-2. Scott Ruegemer went 1-3 with a RBI and he earned a walk and Cole Schmitz went 1-3 with a walk and he scored a run. Dusty Adams earned 2 walks, Adam Backes walked and he scored a run and Aaron Schneider scored a run. Kyle Budde, Dan Hansen and Cory Niewind all earned a walk.
 
SPRING HILL CHARGERS 10 GREENWALD CUBS 3 (Spring Hill 4/23)
 
The Chargers defeated division rival the Cubs, backed by 11 hits and a good pitching performance by Austin Schoenberg and Jordan Welle. Austin threw 6 innings, he gave up just 1 hit, 1 run, walked 6 and he recorded 6 strikeouts, to earn the win. Jordan Welle threw 3 innings of relief to earn a save, he gave up 1 hit, 2 runs, 1 walk and he recorded 2 strikeouts. The Chargers had four with multi hit games, led by Nathan Terres, he went 2-4 with a double for 3 RBI's, he had 2 stolen bases and he scored 2 runs. Jamie Terres had a good game, he went 2-4 with 2 RBI's and he scored 2 runs. Shawn Schoenberg had a good game, going 3-3 with a double, he walked, scored a run and he was hit by a pitch. Austin Schoenberg went 2-4 with a double for 2 RBI's, walked once and he scored 2 runs. Brent Terres went 1-3 with 2 RBI's and he earned a walk and Eric Terres went 1-3, walked, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a pair of runs and Carter Tschida scored a run.
 
The Cubs offense was led by Adam VanBeck, he went 1-4 with a double and he scored a run. Doug Imdieke went 1-2 and he earned a walk and Tyler Braegelmann walked and he had a RBI. Mitchell Worms had a RBI, Brandon Worms earned a pair of walks and he scored a run, Kegan Stueve scored a run and Ryan Preusser was hit by a pitch. The Cubs starting pitcher Tyler Braegelmann was the pitcher of record. He threw 4 innings, he gave up 5 hits, 2 runs and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Adam VanBeck threw 1 inning of relief, he gave up 2 hits, 5 runs and he walked four, he recorded a strikeout. Tyler Hoffman threw 3 innings, he gave up 4 hits, 3 runs, 1 walk and he recorded 2 strikeouts.
 
MAIRE GROVE GROVERS 16 ROSCOE RANGERS 4 (7 In., Roscoe 4/23)
 
The Grovers collected 15 hits to give their pitching staff great support, as they defeated the Rangers. Matt Imdieke started on the mound for the Grovers, he threw 5 innings to earn the win. He gave up just 2 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Colton Meyer threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up 1 hit, 1 walk, 2 runs and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Leading the offensive surge was Kurt Marthaler, he went 2-4 with a home run and a double for 4 big RBI's, walked and he scored 2 runs. Alex Welle had a good game, he went 3-5 with a double for 2 RBI's and he scored a pair of runs. Colten Meyer went 2-3 with a double for 3 big RBI's, he walked twice and he scored 3 runs. Tanner Klaphake went 2-3, he earned 3 walks and he scored 3 runs. Andrew Welled went 1-4 with 2 sacrifice flys for a RBI and he scored a run and Anthony Welle went 1-4 with 2 RBI's, walked twice and he scored a pair of runs. Jaron Klaphake went 1-4 with a RBI, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Drake Meyer went 1-4 and he scored a run, Jordan Klaphake went 1-4 and he scored a run and Kyle Marthaler went 1-1.
 
The Rangers weren't able to generate much offense with only 3 hits, led by Brandon Schleper, he went 1-4 with a double and he scored a run. Trent Gertken went 1-2, walked and he scored a run and Devon Savage went 1-2 and he scored a run. Russ Leyendecker had a sacrifice fly and 2 RBI's and Jordan Schleper had a sacrifice fly for a RBI. Chuck Mackendanz was credited with a RBI, Nic Dingmann had a sacrifice bunt, Chris Vanderbeck scored run and Sartell Utah earned a walk. Josh Mackendanz started on the mound, he threw 4 innings, he gave up 9 hits, 10 runs, 3 walks and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Jordan Schleper threw 2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, 5 runs, 3 walks and he recorded a strikeout. Russ Leyendecker threw 1 inning of relief, he gave up 1 hit, 1 run and he walked one.
 
VICTORY LEAGUE SOUTH
 
ST. STEPHEN STEVES 14 OPOLE BEARS 4 (Opole 4/23)
 
The Steves pounded the ball for a total of 15 hits, including 6 extra base hit. This was more than enough support for a good pitching performance by Isaac Dammen and Andy Stolt. Isaac started on the mound, he threw 5 innings to earned the win. He gave up 3 hits, 2 walks, 2 runs and he recorded 7 strikeouts. Andy threw 4 innings to earn the save, he gave up 5 hits, 1 walk and 2 runs. The Steves offensive surge were led by several multi hit games. Troy Monson had a great game, he went 4-6 with a double for a RBI, he scored 3 runs and he had a stolen base. Blake Guggenberger went 2-3 with a double for a RBI and he earned a pair of walks. Tony Schmitz went 3-5, he scored a pair of runs and he was hit by a pitch and Austin Guggenberger went 2-6 with a RBI. Rick Hendrickson, Mr. Consistent, went 1-3 with a pair of walks, he scored 3 runs and he had 2 RBI&'s. Player-manager, Ben Omann went 1-4 with a double and a sacrifice fly for 2 RBI's. Cody Wolhart went 1-2 with 3 RBI's, 2 runs and he walked 3 times. Brandon Waldvogel went 1-1 for a pair of RBI's and Nick Krippner had two sacrifice flys, scored 2 runs and he walked.
 
The Bears were led by John Pilarski, he went 2-4 with 2 doubles and he scored 2 runs. Austin Gerads went 2-4 with a double for 2 RBI's and Scott Binek went 2-3 and he earned a walk. Isaiah Folsom went 1-4 with a sacrifice bunt, a stolen base and he scored 2 runs, Jake Klein went 1-4 with a RBI an Blake Patrick earned a walk. The starting pitcher and their pitcher of record was Derek Thielen. He threw 6 innings, he gave up 9 hits, 5 runs, 2 walks and he recorded one strikeout. Austin Gerads threw 1 inning, he gave up 4 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks and he had one strikeout. Zack Bialka, he threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks and he recorded 2 strikeouts.
 
ST. WENDEL SAINTS 15 FLENSBURG FALCONS 3 (Flensburg 4/23)
 
The Saints collected 20 hits and they got some good pitching performances to defeat the Falcons. Kyle Jarnot started on the mound for the Saints, he earned the win, Max Posch and Sam Butler both pitched in relief. John Pogatchnik led the way, he went 5-5 with a double and Jake Braegelmann went 3-5 and he walked. Lee Maciej had a great game, he went 4-4 with 2 doubles and he walked and Keaton Gusten went 3-4 with a walk. Russ Fellbaum went 2-4 and Trevor VanHeel went 2-4, Taylor Nitz went 1-2 with a pair of walks and Sam Butler earned a pair of walks.
 
The Falcons were led by Andy Marod went 2-4 with a double and Christian Brink went 2-4. Braden Backowski went 2-4 with a walk and Sam Nagel went 2-4. Ike Thoma went 2-4, Nate Masog went 1-4, Josh Genske went 1-3 and he was hit by a pitch, Jake Thoma and Peter Schumer earned walks. Josh Genske was the starting pitcher and he took the loss.
 
EXHIBITION GAME
 
COLD SPRING ROCKIES 5 ROSCOE RANGERS 2. (Roscoe 4/8)
 
The Rockies defeated the Rangers in exhibition action, Trevor Lardy started on the mound and he threw 5 innings. He gave up 4 hits, 2 walks, one run and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Jordan Neu threw 4 innings of relief to earn the win. He gave up 3 hits, 1 run, no walks and he recorded 2 strikeouts to earn the win. Veteran Kevin Wenner led the way, he went 3-4, he walked and he scored a run. Jordan Neu went 2-4 with a walk and Jake Hennen went 1-3 with a RBI and he earned a pair of walks. Patrick Hemmingson went 1-3 with a walk and he scored 2 runs and David Jonas walked, he had a sacrifice fly and was credited for 2 RBI's. Player-manager Reese Hemmesch earned a walk and he scored a run and Austen Dufner earned a pair of walks and he scored a run.
 
No offensive stats were reported for the Rangers. Brent Heinen started on the mound, he threw 2 innings and Josh Mackedanz threw 4 innings. Chris Van DerBeek threw 2 innings and he was the pitcher of record. Russ Leyendecker threw one inning of relief.
