Dear John Richter (and MBA Board),

As we close out this year, I want to take a moment to thank you for your support of my book Town Ball Parks of Minnesota. Last winter, as a member of the MBA Board, you agreed to allow me to post my book on the MBA mnbaseball.org website.

Since it is release time in June, the book has sold very well. The manager at the largest Barnes and Noble Store in the Twin Cities told me "every year we have a few books that fly out of the store at Christmas, and this year your book is one of them".

I have promoted the book through thirty book-signing appearances. I've been interviewed about the book on WCCO, FOX-9 and KARE-11. I have spoken about the book on ESPN Radio, Fox Sports North and the Twins Radio network. The Book has garnered press in dozens of newspapers and radio stations. And I've had a chance to share the story of town ball at many Rotary and athletic group events. Just this month, the Twins included the book in a gift pack to its season ticket holders.

I don't share this information to boast; in fact, the more success the book has, the more humbled I've become. I share this success to let you know my mission of revealing these ballparks as state treasures continues unabated. And also to assure you that there is a very real interest in town ball, by both those familiar and unfamiliar with this storied sport.

Even though I'm retired, I've never worked harder and at the same time I've never had more fun. To talk about town ball with those who share my passion for the game and these amazing ballparks is a dream come true.

John, I hope you believe I 'm doing your organization proud with the publicity this book has received and that the book's success continues to be a win/win for both parties.

Happy New Year,

Todd Mueller, Author
